Defining Multimedia
Multimedia is in my eyes a medium that can be used as a sort of melting pot to combine previously combinable forms of communication and content into something wonderful that can be used or seen by everyone. It includes the mixture of five or less of these different subjects such as text, graphics, animation, videos, and audio for a format that could be used for a platform that can be used on a digital device such as an iPhone or laptop. An example can be seen in online videos on websites like YouTube where they use video so you can see the images recorded by creator, audio which is used to hear what the creator is saying and also sound effects, and last but not least is text that be used in the intro and credits of the video. Another example is video games which uses all five aspects such as the text, graphics, animation, and audio for when you are playing the game; while text, audio, video, graphics, and animation are used for cutscenes and also the trailer that plays before the main menu pops up, which shows you a sneak peek at what will happen in the game, uses animation, text, graphics, video, and audio. My last example is social media sites such as the now defunct application known as Vine which used sound effects, video, and audio to let it's users pump out tons off content for the whole world.
